About Jen

Hi! I'm not Jen. I'm her daughter, and I wanted to share a little about her with you.

My mom is amazing. Every year she grows this beautiful, huge (and ever-expanding) garden and spends hours taking care of it, from starting the plants in March, to weeding and watering all summer, to harvesting from summer through fall. Then everything that doesn't get eaten fresh is preserved, dried, fermented, or made into some sort of remedy. Besides doing all of this, she also creates all kinds of natural products, including healing salve, sunscreen, body butter, and so many more things.

When she's not working on all these things for her family, friends, and neighbors, she's usually homeschooling, spending time with Dad, or enjoying the sun and the beach with friends. She loves our dog (Tillie) and chickens, sunflowers, summertime, dancing, traveling, tropical beaches, the sun, and her family (hopefully).

As long as I can remember, my mom has been doing everything she can to help her family live the healthiest, most natural lifestyle possible. She has spent hours researching everything health-related, finding trustworthy natural foods and products, and growing and making them herself.

My family has been so blessed by my parents' hard work that our cup is overflowing--especially with vegetables and salves. So, lucky for you, my mom is starting something new by sharing these blessings with the community. Welcome to Merkalator Organics!

A little more about Merkalator Organics

Merkalator Organics' tagline is Genesis 1:11, which says, "Then God said, 'Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.' And it was so." (NIV). The name "Merkalator Organics" is inspired by my dad's nickname, Merkalator.
