Frequently Asked Questions

What is Dynamic Growing?

Dynamic growing is mimicking nature. It’s not just growing rows of organic food without pesticides and GMOs; it is creating a food forest. I leave the roots of the plants in the ground to decompose, and when I plant next, there is a memory of those plants in the dirt. That helps the plants adapt, and there is an entire microbiome in the soil. Because the seeds I save from those plants are better adapted for this area, they grow better.

How do I care for my seedlings?

Your seedlings are already hardened off, so by the time you receive them, they can handle Minnesota's elements. If you can't plant them immediately, make sure you keep the soil moist (but not soaking wet). Plant them when night temperatures will stay above freezing, preferably on a cloudy day, because planting in full sun and hot weather can cause them to wilt and possibly die. Water them well when you plant them in the ground.

What's the difference between certified organic/non-GMO and dynamically grown?

Organic just means that something is all-natural and hasn't been sprayed with pesticides. Non-GMO means the product hasn't been modified or created in a lab. Dynamic growing is creating a "food forest" that mimics a natural environment.

Are you a certified organic grower?

Because of the immense expense involved in becoming certified organic, and my goal to keep my products affordable to all, I am not certified. However, Nothing I grow has been sprayed with any chemicals or pesticides. The seeds I use to start the seedlings are organic heirlooms.

Is there a guarantee that the plants will survive the season, or a money-back guarantee on them?

Unfortunately, nature is unpredictable, so there's no guarantee of success. Once the seedlings have been planted in the ground, they cannot be returned.
