A very early, high-quality cabbage maturing in 60-65 days. The dense, solid heads are nicely spherical, 5-7 inches in diameter and weigh 3-5 pounds. Plants are very compact relative to the size of the heads, allowing closer spacing than some varieties. Fine for coleslaw, stir-fries, and other fresh uses; not usually considered a storage type. One of the earliest types we sell, and popular since at least the 1920s. Yellows resistant.

Cabbage, Golden Acre
Plant 16 inches apart in rows 24 inches apart. Cabbage grows best in fertile, well-draining soil with a pH of 6.0-7.5, ensuring full sun and consistent moisture to prevent splitting. Mulching helps retain soil moisture and deter weeds, while regular applications of balanced fertilizer support healthy growth. Protect plants from common pests like cabbage worms using row covers or companion planting.
You may preorder your seedlings through March 10th, after which limited stock will be available. Shipping is not available at this time for plants. Seedlings are available for local pick up and drop sites (additional drop site fee) near Clear Lake, MN. Pick up dates are variable based on frost dates but will be on average mid-May. Payment is due before pick up, which will be arranged once planting time gets closer.
