These hot peppers grow from 2½-4 inches long by one-half inch in diameter and turn red when mature. Delicious in salsas and for making sriracha. Their heat can vary depending on the growing conditions; typically reach 5,000 to 30,000 Scoville Units. The word "Serrano" means "from the mountains." Harvest in 75-90 days.

Serrano Hot Pepper
Don't be in a rush to get these planted! Peppers like warm or hot days and will be stunted if planted too early in the season. Wait until all threat of frost is gone. Plant in full sun I. fertile soil with organic material worked in. Avoid too much nitrogen especially before fruit sets. Pick all early flowers to encourage strong stems and roots, as well as more fruit later.
You may preorder your seedlings through March 10th, after which limited stock will be available. Shipping is not available at this time for plants. Seedlings are available for local pick up and drop sites (additional drop site fee) near Clear Lake, MN. Pick up dates are variable based on frost dates but will be on average mid-May. Payment is due before pick up, which will be arranged once planting time gets closer.
